BODY
The Tendons Remember What Muscles Forget
Your muscles may remember what you used to lift. Your tendons still need time to adapt to what you are asking them to carry today.
That is the hidden trap when you return to training after time away: strength can feel familiar before every supporting structure has rebuilt its capacity.
Tendons are living tissue. They respond to mechanical loading, but adaptation depends on the tendon, training history, dose, and recovery. Feeling strong—or having no soreness—does not prove you're ready for a dramatic jump in load.
The answer isn't to train timidly. It's to train with patience and purpose.
Progress gradually. Keep your loading consistent. Notice recurring pain or stiffness without assuming every symptom means damage. If symptoms persist, seek individualized assessment.
You're not training to win back one impressive session.
You're training to stay capable for years.
